Embroidery
Embroidery is a great way to show off your organization's logo or emblem. Embroidered logos give formal apparel such as denim shirts, oxfords, and pique sport shirts a professional look and feel. They also look great on hats, jackets and fleece.
What is embroidery?
Embroidery is a method where a design is sewn on to a finished garment using one or more colors of heavy-weight thread.
Here's how it works:
- . The image is processed using software that calculates the number of threads and their placement based on the overall size and complexity of the design. This process is called "digitizing."
- The digital file is then processed by a computer-controlled sewing machine that is capable of manipulating several spools of thread at once.
- An electronic proof is presented to the customer for approval.
- The garments are fitted with a tension hoop to isolate the embroidered area and the image is stitched into the fabric. A reinforcement backing is stitched in to provide stability to the fabric.
- The reinforcement backing for the embroidery is trimmed away and the loose threads are removed.
How to save $$ on your order
- Increase the quantity of your order to bring the cost per garment down.
- Limit the number of locations on the garment on which to embroidery.
- The size of the embroidered area can significantly affect the price of the order due to a higher stitch count.
- Customization and monogramming can increase the price of your order.
- Choosing organic fabrics and products that are “Union Made” or made in the USA can increase your cost.
- Leave at least two weeks to complete the order to eliminate rush charges and expedited shipping service.
- Check with us regularly to see what promotions we have available.
- Make sure your design will fit on all garment sizes that you plan to produce. If we need to make different sized images, there will be significantly higher unit costs associated with your project.
Note: Please keep in mind that all embroidered text needs to be at least 3/16 inch to achieve the best results. There is a one-time digitizing fee for embroidery services.
